THROUGHOUT THIS PANDEMIC THE SURGERY HAS REMAINED OPEN, NO ONE HAS BEEN FURLOUGHED AND OUR TEAM HAVE WORKED RELENTLESSLY TO CONTINUE PROVIDING SERVICES IN THESE CHALLENGING TIMES. EACH WEEK WE PROVIDE OVER 1000 PATIENT CONTACTS AND AROUND HALF ARE FACE TO FACE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CLINICIAN WHO YOU SPEAK TO FIRST.
OUR TELEPHONE LINES ARE EXTREMELY BUSY DEALING WITH AT LEAST DOUBLE THE NORMAL RATE OF INCOMING TELEPHONE CALLS DUE MAINLY TO VACCINATION QUESTIONS. WE DO HAVE A QUEING SYSTEM WHICH AT PEAK TIMES BECOMES FULL AND CALLERS WILL GET AN ENGAGED TONE. EVERYONE IN THE CALL QUEUE WILL BE ANSWERED IN ORDER AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS AND PROOF
From 17 May 2021, people in England who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine. Vaccine status will be available from:
It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified so you can use these services.
If you cannot access these online services, and you have had 2 vaccines, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you had your second dose more than 5 working days ago. It may take 7 working days for the letter to arrive.
This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status.

The practice is fully open and accessible initially via telephone. You can use our online services for ordering medication and for getting medical information. It is not possible to book appointments online at the moment as you have to be telephone triaged first - this is for your safety and ours.
Please do not book a GP appointment or attend your GP Practice if you have symptoms associated with COVID-19 including a new continuous cough, a high temperature or loss of taste and smell. You are advised to stay at home for at least 10 days and follow government guidelines.
If your symptoms are serious, or gets worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.

If you need urgent medical assistance when the surgery is closed please call 111 who will advise you accordingly.
Our telephone team are instructed by the GPs to ask you for the nature of your problem to establish who best to book you with or to re-direct you. This is to make best use of the services & appointments that we have available and not to be deliberately obstructive. EXTRA EVENING, WEEKEND & BANK HOLIDAY OPENING
Castlecroft works with a group of other GP Practices in Wolverhampton (Unity Hub) to provide additional access outside of normal opening hours.
On Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays at various times, and on weekdays between 6.30pm and 8.00pm; Castlecroft patients can access GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist and Practice Nurse appointments at 2 other sites - please see poster below for details:-

The doctors and staff at Castlecroft Medical Practice in Castlecroft are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare in a modern purpose built healthcentre.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

WE ARE NOW A PARK RUN PRACTICE
ParkRun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.
These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and we encourage people of every ability to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; we welcome you all.
Castlecroft Medical Practice have now linked with the ParkRun at West Park in Wolverhampton and actively encourage patients and staff to participate.

All Patients area llocated a named GP. Your named GP is the one whose name appears on your repeat prescriptions. If you would like confirmation please ask at reception.
SMS Text Message Service
Castlecroft is able to send patients free text message reminders of their appointments. Please tell us if you want to receive them & Please ensure we have an up to date mobile number.
Every month over 250 GP & Nurse appointments are missed by patients when they do not attend (DNA) without ringing to cancel or re-book. This is a huge waste of time and money that also makes it more difficult for other patients to book. The number is slowly falling however is still far too high
